the only thing that's holding back that system is the gfx card, get an ati radeon 7950 (ati is deffo best for battlefield) the 7950's are cheap enough and I have 8gb ram, Athlon bulldozer fx 8core cpu and a single radeon 7950 and I run everything on ultra on a 28.1" monitor with hardly any slowdown at all. im really liking this game. and when its further optimised and new amd/ati drivers come out it will surely be faster too

Cheers Det. Could be a nice and much cheaper alternative to what I had in mind hehe. I must admit I was thinking of a bit of future proofing but guess I can upgrade again in 12 months or so after

its only the gfx card which is bottlenecking ur system and stopping it from running how it should. pop a nice 7950 card in and watch the difference m8

I run mine at high settings on a 560ti and once I'd updated the graphics driver it's stopped 90% of the crashes I was having initially, sill get a few disconnects so hoping they patch the server code soon. With COD out this week they need to get on top of it ASAP. Also if you are having problems with it try changing between the 64bit and 32bit versions, right click on the game in origin and select properties, in there you can change which version it launches.

It shows them on the options screen in game. I use the same nostromo profile as I had for bf3 so assume keys are the same as bf3

This happened with the last release.. I cant believe they are making the same mistake again with capacity. This is just like COD releasing games which they know will crash on some machines.

anyone that is using a 360 pad for bf4, is there anyway to only have to press down once on the left stick to run, without having to hold it in to continue running, its driving me mad...

i know pads are not the desired control method for most, but i'm a div and can only use a joypad...

Belial what is the nostromo profile sounds interesting???

    thanks alot

I love the Battlescreen. I have wanted that since BF2. BF4 seems much harder than 3, maybe its just the crappy guns you start with

Thanks again Det for the video card recommendations... think I'll grab myself the one you recommended here and a nice new SSD. - http://www.cclonline.com/product/894...d-3GB/VGA0749/

Re. the crashes. Seems that a number of server updates and client updates have largely fixed the crashes however I know a lot of people whom are still seeing loads of crashes. I was getting one at least every 2 games.

However, I've reinstalled DirectX (from within the /origin games/BF4/_installer/redist/DirectX folder) and I seem to get only one crash every 6 or 7 games now. Also, it was recommended on another forum to disable Hyperthreading in your BIOS for your CPU (intel). I tried this and found performance to be somewhat improved at the expense of a few lockups. Not the actual BF4 exe crashing with an error but the game just locking up and looping sound.

Re-enabled HT but now seem to be experiencing some hiccups in performance! Nothing drastic but just a bit annoying from time to time.

ps.. in game name is sparhawk-9and I'm normally on long after the missus has been satisfied and gone to bed haha.

EDIT: Fuck me, I had some bad spelling fk ups in that post - Fixed now haha

    Battlefield 4 Player Appreciation

    trydling 20 hours ago 1432

Today we launched Battlefield 4 on Xbox One. With that console, we will have brought Battlefield 4 to no less than five platforms. It is amazing to see such a complex universe come to life across so many advanced hardware systems. Millions of people around the world are playing the game and seeing the tip of the iceberg of what the next generation has to offer. At DICE, we are committed to you, the fans, and view the game as a live service. I am extremely proud of the people at DICE and everyone across EA that contributed to the development of Battlefield 4. However, I am less proud to see that the game has experienced some turbulence during the launch period. While some platforms have had only minor problems, others have had more than their fair share of issues. Resolving the launch issues is our #1 priority. In fact, we are so serious that we have the entire team working to stabilize the game and we will not move on to other projects until we are sure that Battlefield 4 meets – and exceeds – your expectations. It is the right thing to do.
To show our appreciation for your patience as we work through these issues, we are announcing that from November 28 through December 5, we will reward all players with Double XP for every multiplayer match they complete. We understand that the launch issues may have impacted your progression, and we want to do everything we can to help you get back the XP that you may have lost. Also, to cap off the week, on December 5 we will give all players that log in to Battlefield 4 multiplayer a M1911 pistol scope. This special sidearm scope, previously reserved for our DICE developers, has a 3X zoom and is available for all classes in Battlefield 4.
You are the heart and soul of Battlefield. We thank you for your support in these early days of the launch, and will continue to show our appreciation as time goes on. To stay informed about the latest game updates, please visit us at Battlefield 4 Control Room or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
    Thank you,
    Karl Magnus Troedsson
