i want to test a theory with these skyboxes

right, this is for those who are a bit more involved in the scene and know what im on about but...

we can recover skyboxes in minutes with a Serial RS232 Null modem Cable when we have a bad flash and this has got me thinking.

a few people (including myself) have more than one skybox in their house, now it starts to get expensive if you have 3/4 skyboxes in your house. I wonder if it is possible to CLONE a box that's been set up and then write this onto another fresh box. this is not for trying to rip off line providers but would let you (in theory) have 2 boxes which when cloned had the same serials and line info etc so the provider will only see the one box. it works on ip too so you could not clone 10 boxes then give em all to your mates, but what you could do in theory is clone 1 box, then have another 2/3 in the same house with the clone info written over them.

is it possible and is there anyone with the knowledge, time and materials to give this a go. I can provide you with the tools to look into.

personally I think its a shame you cant do this because its not as if you are streaming from the line provider, its only a quick authorisation check which uses a tiny bit of bandwidth?

in theory this would allow you to have 3 boxes running on the same line with NO problems being found out.

currently the servers collect info such as username, password, ip and serial

I'm pretty sure it goes on the mac address mate. When I used to use multiple receivers with the same line (for another reason - can't remember) it wasn't enough to simply switch one of the receivers off I had to unplug the network cable before the other receiver would work. I think that's the case, anyway.

if its cccam your talking about it authenticates with username password. Any duplicates flag on the system and wont let either user in and it will flag the server provider.

it would because the admin can see what channel you are on and even if they are on same channel they can see increased ecm requests and ban you

yeah same here m8, get a discount for multi boxes but still would have been nice to have 4 boxes running at same time without having ANY extra cost

As said it's the physical act of signing in that makes this not possible. I have even seen some providers offer a free 2nd line if you buy over a certain amount of months in advance.
