Does this actually get better? I gave up after watching the 2nd episode because of the acting a story line were totally abysmal. I'm running out of series to watch and thinking I should give this another go....

I doubt this will make a second season. The reviews in the US have been piss poor. I don't mind it - it's not unbearable to watch and in the sea of reality crud that's on at the moment it's refreshing. Another Joss Whedon show that will no doubt get the axe.

I'm still watching it, It's not brilliant but watchable.

I have stuck with it too. I hope it keeps getting better. I think it has potential, so it would be a shame if it were cancelled. But, we shall see. It should be back on with new episodes this month.

by golly you are correct. I have the episode on my DVR. I just looked. They did order more episodes to make the first season longer. I hope they make it to season two. More shows get better after the first season if they make it that far.

It's definitely been a slow burner and is worth a watch now - I just hope it doesn't go all shit again any time soon but there were quite a few changes in this last episode so it's worth catching up!
