PS4 - Playstation Plus account needed (Warning)

Hi,
I thought I would give you all a general warning as this little bit of news may catch people out on Xmas day (and I haven't seen it advertised much)

Most of the PS4 games now require a Playstation plus subscription (£40 a year) to play any online content.

So be warned, if you have a PS4 + Battlefield 4 lined up for xmas, please remember to factor in the extra £40 required for playstation plus.

(personally, I think this will be another news item as more people realise this, as it has been made clear at all!)

It has been mentioned on here a few times but I said to me mates that they would have to pay a subscription to play on PSN with the PS4 and they didnt know about it at all so it is not a well known/publicized fact at all :-(

You can pay £4 for one month just to get you started. Plus there is a 14 day trial for new users !

In the US / Canada you do along with $10 credit for the store - we just get 14 days psn trial

I bought mine in the UK and it stated on the box about 2 weeks free PS+ but woe and behold because i used a free PS+ with my account years ago when it was on my PS3 i was politely told to go fuck myself.

Just to clarify... This free trial is for people who have never used the PS+ service before. If you are a normal PSN user, then you can can use the free trial.

The annoying thing about this, is that Sony gave everyone a month free on PSN because of the hacking. So.... Now we can't get 2 weeks free to try it out on the PS4. Bit cheeky.... !

I remember reading that Sony left it up to the developers weather or not a PS+ subscription was needed to play online, and with looking at the back of my game boxes I think its right. COD, Fifa, Assassins Creed all say Network Play 2-xx players.
However Battlefield and NBA2K14 both say Network Play supported PS Plus subscription required and the image is in yellow.

Not able to test myself as I have PS+ and personally think for the money and the free games you get its worth the £40 for the year (RRP)
