What headset?

Hey peeps I've never really got Into online gaming like COD and battlefield, but I'm looking to start playing what's the best headset, I take it you can get amazing surround sound ones to make the feeling more realistic? I've heard of turtle beach but just so many models , also need to be good for chatting none of this muffled stuff.

I bought my son the Turtle beach PX21 headset for his birthday last year and its awesome, if you shop around you could get it for £30(ish)

At the time of buying it I was told that Tritton headsets are fantastic as well though

i just got my son turtlebeach x12 around 30 quid
great sound quality & mic, works on PC & 360 not sure about ps3

Turtlebeach are shit quality wise (3 sets of the px21's returned in 12 months) and atm you have to get an extra cable to enable chat on the ps4 . . . .

I have recently shelled out 200 notes on the Astro A50's and am not at all disappointed with them - sound quality is awesome

There are also the steelseries headphone which are just shipping around now - they are a similar price to the Astro's and are getting really good reviews

Yes you get 5.1 dolby digital surround sound which is really good especially on fps games - they do not support DTS

The Astros are very comfy - the sound mixer which is located on the right headphone takes a bit of getting used to you have to tap left or right on the headphone to change the mix rather than having a control to increase / decrease game / voice volume

check youtube loads of reviews on there to look at

If I was buying now I would get the A50's but would be checking out the steel series ones as well - imo the only two high quality headsets I would be looking at

I did try a set of the turtlebeach headphones for ps4 can't remember the model number but sent them back as they were shit
