    Default FM2014 - thoughts?

Finished my first season as spurs. Finished 4th in the first season, semi in Uefa cup and qtr final league cup. Sounds like relatively successful first season BUT it's been the hardest ever.

I had to change tactics 3 times in the season and even during the games. Found it difficult to find a balance between keeping a clean sheet (which resulted in no goals scored) or all out attack and getting butchered on the counter.

Also kept getting gazumpt on transfers so remember to bump up there wage request by 10% and maybe even squad role.

But to counter that they have enforced strict wage budgets and financial controls which stop you offering the the big money.

Still love the game but I'm not sure if this is getting too real and taking then fun out of it.

    Same for you guys?

I thought it was easier than 2013. But... I have some good tactics that I rotate depending on the opposition.

In a management game realism is pretty bread and butter for me.

They've added some nice features from the last version too like negotiating transfer fees in one go. Its about the same level of difficulty as last time for me. Finished 3rd in my first season with Newcastle after making one transfer with Williamson and ameobi leaving for money on getting Andre Ayew.

I love it, I like the new tactic system and player roles. Much easier to get your team playing the way you want than messing around with sliders and yes, no commands.

Realism, yeah I think its a tad realistic and unrealistic at the same time.

Example - Won Champions League With Celtic after 4 seasons ( lucky draw ) Got bored with the SPFL, tried to get another job. Got nothing, ended up resigning from Celtic and after 6 months of bugger all ended up taking up post at a twice relegated Birmingham.

I think its much better than 2013, the game flows better and has some good new features. I tend to start in a random league in the lowest possible and see if I can get to the top. More of a challenge than just managing a big team from the start.

I think I paid £26. Preorders get to play the Beta 2 weeks early. Then you can continue that into the game, when it arrives.

Yeah. I become massively unproductive when it's released. I also stay up until 3am. I don't play it all year like I did in 93 - 2001. It only has my attention for a month these days.

So... I played the beta with Sheff Utd. Got bored and cancelled the game.

I keep going back to buy it. But.... The physical copy is 17.99 and the download 29.99. So.... I am going to pirate it instead. 18 quid is reasonable, so they should have made the download the same price as the physical copy. Then I wouldn't steal it.
