It's come out that a guy that works my place has done time for sex offences , specifically child porn. It came out by accident after someone googled his name and several stories from different papers came up. He was a detective in the Met and it was a fairly big story. Now it looks like he's in the running to be a supervisor. I'm not sure whether the higher management are aware of his background. Am I within my rights to refuse to work with him? Shouldn't I be allowed to know if people I work with are sex offenders? I don't actually work with him but if he gets promoted I could do.
