Default Gaming Laptop - choice of 2

Ive settled on the idea of getting a gaming laptop, mostly due to the fact I anticipate I'll be working offshore for a good few more years. Ive had a good look around and decided on 2 options..

Option 1: CyberPowerPC FANGBOOK EVO 17.3" FHD LED-Backlit 1920x1080 Display

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4800MQ Mobile Processor 2.70 GHz 6M Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.70 GHz Motherboard: Mobile Intel HM87 Express Chipset Mainboard
Memory: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3-1600 SODIMM Memory (Kingston or Crucial)
Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 780M 4GB PCIe Video
Hard Drive 1 : 128 GB Plextor PX-M5S Series SATA III Gaming MLC Solid State Disk
    Hard Drive 2 : 1TB Seagate Momentus XT Sata6Gbs 64MB Cache Hybrid Hard Drive w/ 8GB SSD Caching Optical Drive: 6X Blu-Ray Reader/8X DVD±R/2.4X + DL Super-Multi Drive

Freebies: FREE Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Coupon + CoolerMaster NotePal U2 Plus cooler

    £1870.80

    Option 2: Asus G750JH-T4106H-24GB Laptop, 17.3 FHD in LED HD 1920 x 1080 Pixels 16:9

    CPU: Intel Core i7 4700HQ 2.4 GHz Q-core Motherboard: Intel HM87
    Memory
    : 24GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz Need more memory?
    Video Card
    : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5 VRAM
    Hard Disk Drive 1
    : 1024 GB 5400 + RPM
    Hard Disk Drive 2
    : 256 GB SSD
    Optical Drive
    : Blu-ray
    Sound
: SonicMaster, Built-in subwoofer, MaxxAudio support

    £1834.80

What would you choose? Option 1 = Better processor and graphics card?, Option 2 = better design, more RAM, bigger SSD

    id go for opt 1

SSd as a c drive is good and it has an hybrid sata which means its part ssd part sata if I got my facts correct.
24 gig memory is OTT on opt2.

Theese both will need to be powered most of the time as with all this performance there is drawbacks. A lot of money on something you might drop over board

    Thanks to Mickey

thanks guys. i know its a lot of money , but it will get a lot of use offshore, and im meticulous about looking after my gadgets so will be well taken care of.

beginning to lean towards option 1 now. with regards to the better processor and graphics card, you think its def worth it then?

not worried about it having to be powered most of the time. mobility isnt an issue, will sit in my cabin for 28 days at a time...

I did a quick look this morning before work. Republic of gamers do some nice laptops. i know their motherboards "asus" have their branding.

You could always use a monitor at work to get over the limitations of a smaller screen

    Thanks to Mickey

i know, thats why im still torn between the fangbook and the ROG lappy.

i mean yeah the fangbook has a better processor and GPU, but if they arent THAT much more better than what the asus has to offer i might still go with the ASUS...it just looks shit hot. i mean looks arent everything... well in laptop terms anyway, but theres just something about it.

if anyone can advise or convince me that the fang is the way to go fair enough, but as i said if theres not much difference i might just go for the style and "well known name of" the Asus Republic of Gamers.....

I have an Asus G73-JH which is a prior model of that one. I grabbed it a few months after it came out in 2010 and it's still going strong. I can play anything on it still at high settings. It's a very comfortable laptop to use. The only thing I had issues with which didn't start happening until about 2 years in is overheating while playing games. Obviously you wanna airdust it on a regular basis but I also got a cooling pad for it and it hasn't overheated since. However, any laptop is gonna overheat when you pound it!

Personally I am completely sold on Asus and have been recommending them to people for years now and not had one person complain about them.

    Thanks to johnny

Oh yeah, battery life blows and it's really not meant to ever be used unplugged but like myself, you say that's not an issue.

If you've got that sort of money for a gaming Laptop, you have an immense choice. Pick carefully.

Do you need that much power when ultimately it's for a cheeky wank with the rest of the sex starved sailors!!!!
Be cheaper to get a flesh hole.. or cheaper still if you cut an empty 2 ltr coke bottle in half and fill it with pig's livers (you might want to warm em up a bit first)

Make sure it's wipe clean ffs

    Thanks to macmilm

DejaVu - must admit, that does look nice. Will maybe wait for a review or 2 to appear for that one and see if it lives up to the hype.

Think im sold on the Asus, mainly as it is a brand I know.

just realised, both of those lappys i posted have the same GPU, so really the only thing the Fangbook has is a better processor...
