Default wii-u one step closer to being hacked

according to a few trusted sites and people, the wii-u bootloader has been dumped and this means that a full working hack is not very far away, apologies if this is old news to some but I could not see any posts about it. I for one am really looking forward to this.

This will either kill Wii U or help shift some units. Hopefully the latter as I love mine.

It's not as if there's any third party support anyway ,so it might be a good thing for ninty.

I totally forgot about the new donkey kong, the advertising for the game has been terrible, I did not even realise it was already out.
    ill be ordering it soon.

I sincerely hope the wii u gets hacked fully soon, it will help sell a shitload of units and I can see them becoming as hot as the ps3 was a couple of years ago when the hack first came out for that. it might be worth buying some as cheap as you can now.

I will always pay for good games, we have all the Mario games (platformers) and we have donkey kong wii, but this would open up the possibility of us playing other games and if we like them and they are worth the investment I would buy them.

I hope you are right and it doesn't kill it off completely the nintendo games are awesome. - 3rd party games do not matter and the wiu is awesome if you have another console for the multi platform games - I reckon a wiu + a ps4 or xbone is the best option for gaming atm

I can't see this as being a good thing. Although its hard to see anything conclusive about the PS or xbox hacking being a negative overall, I dont think Nintendo has a strong enough base to weather that storm. In the old PS1 days everyone wanted the console, regardless of it the games were free or not, its not the same situation with the Wii-U. If you want to play the games which are available, its not a big outlay and the future of the console is in jeapardy so there isnt the solid outlook of their being a continuous stream of games to look forward to.

Either way, I think its gonna be dreamcast 2.0 (and without the amazing line up of games). I don't think it being hacked or not will make any odds. Being able to pirate less than a handful of titles isn't that appealing.

I think a hack would make me get one tbh.. I do know what you mean though about Nintendo not being in as strong a position to possibly handle it.
A lot will depend on peoples use of the hack Piracy or Homebrew

    Time will tell

I was watching this yesterday as I am hopefully getting a Dreamcast soon (If the twat does not let me down).

I have a bad feeling that Nintendo is going this way and that makes me sad a little

Sayga you mean. It looks an all too familiar setting for Nintendo though. Lack of 3rd Party Support etc....

i really hope it doesnt get hacked as it will most likely be the death of the console which is actually quite good, i know that the PSX etc. sold very well regardless of what solutions were released for the console but i would hate to see Nintendo go the way of SEGA
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

The strange thing on the dreamcast ,is that most of the good games were by capcom.

Do it! My collection is building nicely. I am been out priced by a lot of stuff I used to own as a kid on eBay but I intend to buy what I used to have and what I always wanted.
The Wii U has not made an appearance in our house yet, I am waiting for a decent price drop until it does.

Hacked systems don't really appeal to me, I spent more money on blank discs on games I never played for the Wii and Xbox/Xbox 360 over the years than I would have needed to if I had just bought the games I played to the death from new.

    Agreed, like for like.

Prices and bundles are out there, but at reduced quantities it appears.
