How can I make some odourless gel?

Doesn anyone know of any ingredients I can use to make my own gel?

Basically, my sister in law is losing weight and as an incentive she was asking I knew how to make my own version of the "1lb of fat" images you see.

Yeah saw you can buy them, but they're crazy expensive. Wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives really.

You can cheaply make your own ballistics gel. Add some yellow food colouring for the colour you want. To set the gel you could maybe pour it into a container made from a piece of crumpled foil which has then been shaped into a container to give you the rough mis-shaped look as in your post above. what about silicone bathroom gel?
I'd have thought if you lined an old ice cream tub with clingfilm or similar then gozzed a load of silicone into it and left it to set, job done ?

What about a simple Jelly? wrap it crudely in cling film so it sets into a 'fatty' shape?

That stuff takes for ever to go off in large volumes. The air can't get at the inner part so it stays gooey for ages.

I would get an Oven Pride bag as the container and suck the air out of it, then you can mold it how you like. Along with some food colouring to suit.

Way to miss the point DENSITY? if not particularly dense it could be way too big. . .basic physics ffs!!!

Think of the difference between a similar sized piece of Styrofoam or Lead, will they weigh the same? . . . . . if your answer is yes you needed to pay more attention in school!!
I imagine ballistic gel will be too dense, it is meant to average out muscle and adipose tissue. . .you just want the adipose tissue, muscle is waaay more dense.

My solution to the weight/density problem is to make sure it'll be overweight. Weight the mix before it's hardened to make sure it's over 1lb. My guess is it'll gain weight as it sets. But I can't see how - I'm no physics teacher!
Once it's made, pour boiling hot water over it slowly (this will also make it look a random shape) until its the desired weight.
