    Still rocking this: http://www.digital-forums.com/showth...R-150-dash-cam

Not had to use the footage other than have a laugh at near misses and stuff. The battery is shot now tho, so when I get out it lasts only a few hours when before it would do easy a week.

Keep meaning to see if I can replace it.

IMO any battery will be shit after the fucked up charge cycles it will have to put up with. Capacitor sounds a better option to me.

I've got a mini 0803, first one had to be replaced as it got so hot the plastic was deforming but this one so far seems ok. Apart from picking up a few near misses it also caught the car that clipped my wing mirror when it was parked up as it's set to record constantly. Waiting on the police to look at that at the moment.......

Thanks interested to hear this as this is the one I'm looking at.

Did you send it back for a replacement?

Is this camera constantly plugged in then? Recording 24/7?

Where did you hardwire it into for a constant live, did you piggyback a 3/5A fuse? Or run an inline fuse with it?

Yes, was bought via amazon marketplace. Had to send it back to China and they sent a replacement + refunded the postage, took a couple of weeks.

Yes it's constantly on unless I turn it off.

I also bought a Lukas battery saver (can't remember the model off hand) which should turn the camera off if the battery voltage drops to the level where the car won't start. I'll be honest not sure if it works as have had a flat battery since but it was over xmas and car wasn't used for a couple of weeks so it may well have been the subsequent drain from the alarm etc. I took the simple incorrect approach and just ran the cable behind the headlining down to the fuse box then piggybacked on to an existing fuse, the Lukas thing has got it's own inline one anyway.

    Thanks to hoponbaby

Thanks for that, I'm leaning towards the Transcend to be honest. I like the idea of the emergency feature on it, good for when I capture silly/funny/serious incidents I guess.

I don't think I want mine on all the time, so i'm happy to throw into a switched live like I do now.

    Cheers for your input.

It would be nice if the mount could be rotated so you can film the knobs alongside etc. Pretty sure the 0803 has also got the emergency save footage button - as there's a 32 gig card in mine I haven't bothered using it tbh.

I specifically wanted the coverage when parked and the wing mirror incident proved why, not sure on the G shock sensitivity or whether it would have registered to be saved whereas you hear the smack. The reason for buying it was after someone scraped down the side - again on a carpark so very low speed and presumably low impact so would it have been saved??

Just noticed the 0803 has now been upgraded at the end of the year to the 0805. Fixed the overheating issues, fixed the holding joint connection and added a few other bits.

    http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/mini-0805/

Decided to go with this one, and use my 0801 as a rear camera.

Will post a review when I get it and set it all up.

Couple of vids from my Blueskysea unit Now replaced by newer model. Records in selectable time segments. Set mine to 3min. Get about 4 days' worth of trips ~ 8 hours driving on a 32Gb card

Quality of original better then the uploaded cropped files above but you get the picture (pun NOT intended)

I have the 0803. However I have a re-issue which has no over heating issues, has a very tight fit mount. The only problem I have is that my car has an Athermic windscreen which is known to block out GPS signals. Sat nav works fine but the GPS mount for the camera can't get out. Mustn't be as strong a transmitter/receiver. No biggie to be honest. It's more about capturing incidents as opposed to recording my speed and routes.

Quality of the image Day and Night is superb.

Can only imagine the 0805 / 0806 models would be better.

I'll wait a few generations and put whatever the latest models is next year in the front and put the 0803 in the back. For less than £70, the E-Prance 080* series cameras are fantastic. No need to spend out on overly expensive ones.

They can be pretty discreet to be honest, failing that most come with suction mounts, and the 080X series can clip off the mount.

I'll post pictures of mine shortly, it's barely visible from the outside.

Incidentally, handy tip. If any of you need to remove a mount that's been put on with one of those ridiculously sticky pads..... Dental Floss! Gets in behind the mount. Saw away and then just gently rub the residue off.

I've had one since a pair of lying coppers told me I had drove over a mini roundabout when I hadn't. I'd advise everyone to get one as most police are put under pressure to issue tickets for the most trivial of reasons. They've been known to exaggerate too.

I think mine cost around £40 on Amazon and has worked okay since I got it about 6 months ago.

It's the side mirror ones that would get done - number of times I've seen people bitching about kicked car mirrors round here. If anyone gets caught they're in for some serious trouble.
