    BS according to Snopes. Too many 'convenient' variables and to get you tugging at the heart strings usually makes me wonder when it comes to stories like this.

    I belong to the two core demographics least likely to be moved by this story i.e I hate the Military Industrial complex + flag waving patriots and I don't particularly like dogs (although I wish them no harm).
