Default Different displays on same graphics card and same screens

Wonder if anyone can help me here please?

I have one graphics card a Radeon HD 5450 with just DVI and HDMI output.

2 brand new HP 23 inch panels, one on the DVI port the other on HDMI.

    Windows 7

    Latest drivers installed.

    Both set at same resolution.

The problem I have is the HDMI monitor is showing a black border so the screen size is smaller that DVI monitor ?

I have tried the screen utils to resize but that stretches it and so not the same.

Have swapped monitors and the problem follows the HDMI port. Swapped HMDI cable too.

Not tried it, the border I should mention is all the way round so in effect the HDMI screen is showing a 10cm square black boarder. I'll have a look at ultramon now.

I would try plugging another HDMI device to the monitor, and plug the computer the HDMI port on a telly to check whether the border is an issue with the pc or monitor or even a strange interaction between them.

    Thanks to Over Carl

In the end I never resolved it and binned the kit.
