I don't know much about cable but I seem to recall reading either here or somewhere else that bent cable is much easier to track down.

Does whatever you connect the coax to need to obtain an IP?

I've been looking info regarding the above for a while now but as I have said before it seems to be the best kept secret. From what I can work out it seems to,be some sort of VPN connection between the boxes

People are so used to free channels, they can't see it ending. I have been here several times before. We probably won't have it as good for a while, or ever. But there will be something out there to satisfy your TV needs. As said above, Virgin is available for some.

Ive had boxes where I get free channels but sadly it always ends.
For the past few years ive changed the way I watch films and I now just stream them though XBMC to my main tv.
I know u on about sky channels which are different - but sometimes u have to move with the times.

There is a new update that fixes some of the non working sd and hd channels (not all sadly)
even if sky just left sd channels alone I think its still worth getting but if sky turn everything off I guarantee you that within a few months there will be something to counter it. I know sky italia went down 6 months ago but they are working on this now, there is a lot more known than some people think and because its become such a massive money maker the Chinese will be looking into this for sure, they must have made millions from all of the skyboxes sold in the uk alone
