This rent out a plex server sounds interesting. I wonder how this guy hosts his server? Looking at the number of people here interested alone youd need some serious bandwidth and a pretty decent server to cope with the load. Is it limited to only play direct or can you transcode as well?

He's got multiple servers mate, spec wise they must be beasts! I've used direct play and transposing and both seemed to work for me when I tried.

The storage capacity must be insane!

Youd expect some kind of shared storage if hes got 6 servers. 48tb of storage on each would be crazy! Setting something like this up would be a fun project, if only money wasnt an issue. Even with 6 servers hes gona need at least 60 users per server.

Yep be great to tinker with those makes most specs look like a X spectrum when he listed it lol,

He currently running at something like 25% load on each server last time we spoke and seems to have plenty members but be great to run something like a vip DF one is happily pays subs for a group one rather than all the individual share ones ,add DF CS and bundle the lot together [emoji106]🏼

CS Kings have minimum pricing rules. Which means they aren't as competitive as they should be...!

I went over to sharing a Plex server about a year ago it's on cs kings and £3 a month. It's a million times better than kodi and free links. I also have a cs for £12 a year, never had an issue it with it. I've not tried iptv yet as I've found it a bit pricey. Might give it ago this year.

Some do. The chap I had Plex off was initially just movies and TV for £40 a year but then gave an upgrade option for all the usual channels including sports and PPV events. He wanted £90 though.
I ditched that whole service for Kodi a few months ago. Once I realised I could get all the TV series seasons I wanted (and in better quality) for nothing, it was a no brainer. I'm sure if you searched about you could find someone offering the same.

Many do this. Looking at £80 - £120 a year though.

I've never found the free streams in Kodi/XBMC to be reliable or good quality with both VM and Sky Fibre.

IMO Premium/Private servers on Plex are the way to go.

There is a group on Facebook called Sports and More or SAM that does plex with full uk sky IPTV (most in HD) built in for about £60 for the year.

    2 Thanks given to piggzy
