I know, but they are still encrypted HD channels. Robbo said that he wasn't getting any HD channels at all.

There's no magic tool like once believed either that they can a tech can go to a cab and see if a box is on-line. The only method they have is cab cleaning, which is checking each cable that marries to a house, if the house is connected and doesn't have a sub they'll disconnect it.
They can also patch in from the nearest pit/cab in the street feeding a particular house and by looking at devices the customer should have they can
compare the expected return path power level to what is actually being returned from a customers drop cable. Every time you add a device or even a splitter to the feed it affects the return path power level. using this they can request access to fix the power level. As it can create noise on the line affecting other customers.if you don't let them in they will just put a 50db blocker on your feed and wait until you call in reporting a fault. THe cable co provided boxes all have built in diagnostics as well as the modems so they can eliminate them without needing access.
If you fail to let them in it will flag up and may attract unwanted attention from their theft dept.

Or get inside the cab and rip all the address labels off the cables
Just use enough water to cover your vegetables, the same goes for when you're having a bath....

    And then what?

All they can do is cut you off.

yeah lots to worry about muhahaha.
CS cable on a dreambox - lets not worry about return paths that dont exist. Add in a broadband sub to virgin => no cab disconnection

    Thanks to sk.

Why would they put a 50db blocker on it ? To stop the feed they would just disconnect the feed.

They can't compare the power levels at all. From the cab to the house drop any number of things can cause ingress-egress, regardless of what package sub has.

The only way they can trace a cable in a cab to the drp box is to tone it out. The only sites that have a half decent tagged cab sites are the old Nthell sites.

The ex cable and dire sites have no tags and have splitters actually on the taps feeding two and even three feeds.

As Geko says, the only thing they can do is cut you off. Which is basically unscrewing the f connector in the cab.

So in theory you can still watch sky 3d movies in hd by converting them to 2d
If you're 3d telly supports it most Samsung one's do.. Or just watch in 3d ;-)

Well I was told by a reliable source up to now! that things will be changing for the sd channels before Christmas, apparently (sly) will be doing similar with standard channels.

I don't now exactly what is it that they are doing but sly italia sd channels have stop since last week!

    Can anyone verify that here?
