No problems here, funnily enough sky go and now tv get shut off tonight for improvements and new customers are required to pay £25 upfront to join as of tomorrow.

Part of the plan by sky?

Was reading this on another forum:

Last summer sky revealed plans that they would be changing the way they were going to be pairing their cards which was due to be rolled out early in 2013 and its happening now ! Already boxes in certain areas are affected (mainly amstrad receivers) with the loss of all HD sports/movies and any other premium channel add on,the only channels remaining are the family pack channels in sd format.

The new pairing method is working because any emu available today cannot read the new boxid that cards are using now after an entitlements update thus rendering all premium hd channels defunct on servers.

Payservers no dought will already be trying to find a way round this but i do not think its gonna be a smooth journey for them,it was a long time coming and payservers are mostly to blame for the change but the revenue sky are losing must be massive.

Anyway it was just a heads up incase any of you were thinking of spending your hard earned cash only to find the channels you thought you would receive are in darkness.
    ...
the new pairing method is preventing 3rd party equipment understanding the boxid/either its encrypted or a new algorithm is being used buried in an unknown location on the receiver itself(possibly the nvram chip)

Sky sports/movies HD & SD and any other premium channel addition require a paired card...and has always been the case so after this update has been sent to the card these channels will only broadcast in the official stb

Confirmed by my provider that HD channels are being switched off....SD unaffected though as they cannot update the older boxes and the only option would be to swap them out, of which there must be thousands upon thousands out there...

Friend of mine posted this on a forum.

"A good friend of mine works for S-k-y technical department has just confirmed that s-k-y have issued a statement this week
advising that "Starting from Today Thursday April 24th 2014 all HD subscription channels will begin changing codec and broadcasting streams to allow for thier new Mpeg 5 EPG system to be launched and added to all HD paired boxes via software upgrades "

"This new feature similar to that of digital Saorview interactive text and features will take effect from today and will allow users in the immediate future to fully enjoy the new interactive teletext functions to become a main feature going forward into 2015 and beyond "

This news makes a lot of sense and appears to be exactly what S-k-yIT have done albeit as an excuse to eliminate many commercial payservers and c/s on thier HD channels .
I Do not expect to see any fix coming since its rather obvious now that any and all linux boxes just do not support these changes in codecs otherwise we already would have been enjoying S-k-y IT HD Channels months ago ."
