Southpark the stick of truth and my 10 year old!

I bought my son Southpark the stick of truth, yes its full of sexual inuendos and swear words etc but hey I played all the games under the sun when I was little and it done me no harm *twitch *twitch

So anyway he was playing it last night loving it then came through and said I cant play it anymore, why you ask? Well, there on the screen was a sex scene going on in the background not some daft act but basically porn in game! Even I wouldn't expect him to play that so I had to take over to complete that part of the game When he went to bed I had to redo that level to make sure I had done it correctly

Before any try to prejudge me allowing my son to play that along with GTA V etc I have to mention that he wont swear, he wouldn't even say the word gay calling it the "G word!" Until I told him its ok in certain circumstances, he's also being presented with a "You can Shine" award thanks to how he is at school with other kids.

I suppose my main point is that aslong as you teach them right from wrong and explain things when they crop up playing games shouldn't mean they are going to turn into some gun toting psychos as some try to make us believe! Oh and the other point is well its erm porn!

Sounds to me like your kid might be gay. Calling it the 'g word' sounds like he can't bring himself to say it out of guilt. Also, I'm not sure what 'how he is at school with other kids.' means, but it sounds like code for 'he wants to hug everyone all the time and he might be gay'.

My cousin had this problem with his son, he sat him down and went thorough his feelings using a Kermit the Frog and Gonzo they had bought him for Christmas. My cousin did a short re-enactment of 'My beautiful Laundrette' with the puppets and by the 3rd act they knew he was a Berty Chuffter.

Don't worry mate, it's not the end of the world. My cousin is now the proud dad of a Fabulous (with a capital F) all singing, all dancing show stopper who starts his second year at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in September.

lol Czar I've no issues even if he was the "G word" but its not due to him possibly being gay its down to the fact that he wont say certain words as he thinks they are swear words, I asked him to say Kookaburra once and he wouldn't as he though it was bad, we've brought him up knowing that its bad to swear and to be nice unlike some of the bellend parents were we live who seem content on letting their kids do what ever they want aslong as they have peace and quiet to gossip and shit stir on FB! The school he goes to has quit a fee little shits, some are even on tablets to keep them calm at school!

As for the award its based on behaviour and him doing well in class, hes also not the only one getting an award. Its sounds like I'm trying to say he's not gay but if he is he is I aint a homophobe! Dont forget though he's only 10.

As for singing and dancing show stopper, fuck if he's got my moves he's straighter than a plumb line!

I was well behaved infront of adults at that age too, doesn't mean I wasn't a little shite; doing things I knew my parents would disapprove of. Fucking angel infront of the teachers an aw. Just saying.

My point is my son knows what line not to cross, he knows right from wrong and knows whats real and whats just a game or film etc, our consoles are in the back room were we can see everything he's doing, not tucked away in his bedroom out of the way to be left to his own devices. I don't mind at all what violence is in a game as i mentioned I grew up playing all the games going and have NEVER been in trouble or can even be bothered with trouble, I knew right from wrong, when I got it wrong I knew about it thanks to my parents!

Its like when some people say "Dont swear in front of my kids" Now I do admit I don't swear as much in front of other kids mainly out of respect but do these parents seriously think their kids aren't going to hear far worse in school? What are they going to do, go into the school and tell each and every kid not to swear in front of their kid? Oh and believe me some of the kids were we live are little shits, they do what they want and pick on whom ever they see and thinks its ok as theres no discipline in their family! Ok its not exactly the kids fault that they can do what they want but they are still little shits!

Also whys it strange? Are you saying allowing him to play those games is bad? Most games films tv programs have some sort of violence in then, you only have to look on TV to see violence and sexual stuff and thats in kids shows, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, ok the latter 2 maybe not what you call kids shows but I think you get my point? Even Tom and Jerry is full of what you could call violence is it not? So what difference is it in a game? So GTA being full of it means its far worse than whats in many other cartoons? Only if the child playing it doesn't understand that its wrong to do whats involved in that game.

At the end of the day if you spend time teaching them whats right and wrong other than sitting on your fat arse not giving a fuck what they are up to then you have a better chance of bringing up a well mannered "Gay" child that knows right from wrong.

P.S I'm far from perfect as is my son but I'm not ashamed to say he is a good lad and has got an understanding of whats good or bad.

Totes agree with your points. I was raised exceptionally well, didn't have many boundaries set for me but also never went off the rails. They obviously did some voodoo-subliminal stuff with me (or communication, whatever you want to call it) and it worked.
