    Help Water softeners

Anyone have any experience or knowledge of water softeners?

Having done some research I'm fairly confident I want an automatic dual cyclinder softener and not a timed electronic system. We have a 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom house.

Beyond that I start to struggle - doesn't seem to be much information online around which brand to go for, who/how to install it - also very diffcult to get any idea of what I need to be paying without having to have people out to quote.

    Any help appreciated.

    Default Re: Water softeners

Ok I have a prismertec made by Aquasoft, installed about 12 years ago, this is an itelligent softener as it only regenerates when it needs to..(salt usage is about 25kg tablet sack once every 10 - 12 weeks)

I found other models are by comparison salt hogs!
Look at flow rates as they do vary.
A plumber would fit and manufacturer would commission after install (water hardness levels etc)
It is common for the kitchen sink to remain un softened - although mine is now softened and im still alive.
Tea tasted like it should and shower screens stay shiny.
I like to think its the smartest purchase I've made.

mine cost £480 12 years ago, and had it installed with new kitchen refurb.

    Hope that helps a bit.
