Just purchased the mother in law a kindle for her birthday.
Whats the best way to load it full of books? and where's the best resource to find them?

Depends on if you intend on paying for the books.
The Kindle store on amazon has all the 'classics' for free. Think Bronte sisters and Dickens. Of course you can also buy new releases there too.
Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.org/ has free texts I think that date before copyright, or some shit like that. Think Chaucer and Machiavelli.
Of course, if you want chart topping new releases for free you can't do that. You can't possibly torrent them and load them to the kindle via cable. You just can't.

Agree with all the above as I have 6 kindles (in family) and keep them all supplied, my best advise is find out what the mother-in-law likes and get her top 10 authors and if I have any your welcome to them. Cant rate calibre enough great software and free my only complaint it updates nearly weekly or seems like it, but I would be lost with out it even got my daughter University Study books in PDF and converted for the kindle.
Let me know what she likes
Known as TC to his friends, he resides in a dustbin, where he gets as much sleep as he can.
