It's also happening in the Mod control panel so none of that going on just now.

Maybe the currently active users is set up on the forum over a certain period for example 6 hours and therefore it registers anyone who has visited in those 6 hours as currently..?

Either that or a banned member is trying to piss admin off.

On looking at the list of currently online users the oldest is 59 minutes so that's the amount of users who have been on the site in the last 60 minutes and not all at the exact same time, in regards to it being a Dos attack I would have thought the host would have protective software that stops it or at least slow down any Dos attacks, maybe it is and this is the result?

I've noticed the logged on users are all visiting different threads/posts so it's not a link from a busy website either.

It's almost impossible to access the forums by Tapatalk.
