Yeah plug sky into xbox and xbox into tv, you can also switch the sky box channels from xbox controller.

But as said above get a splitter so sky into splitter one into xbox and other into TV so then you don't have to have xbox on when want to watch tv but if playing xbox you can SNAP the tv ;-)

    Thanks to akimba

ok follow up stupid question, whats the difference in using a splitter or just have two hdmi so one from sky to tv and one from xbox to tv? It means i watch sky as normal but assuming it just means i can't watch tv on xbox? where as using a splitter would allow both options with xbox being left on??

    Splitter means TV on both.
Other option mean Xbox has to be on.

Unless you have a Sky box with 2 HDMI out but pretty sure none do. Could be wrong.

    Something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Betron-HDMI-...=hdmi+splitter

But does say you have to manually select the cdmi you want?

I suppose the other option is to just use two hdmi and not connect the xbox to sky at all ... not sure if i would use tv via xbox.... Hmmmm

That's for putting 3 devices into ! HDMI on your TV.

You are getting it arse about tit, need to split the signal coming out of the sky box into 2 so can feed one into the xbox which then goes to tv and the other goes straight to tv.

    Upsides of this is
1.watching SKy whilst playing which to me is invaluable
2.Sometimes watching tv thru xbox aint the best so best to have a back up direct connection.

    Nope :-(

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Splitter-Amp...=hdmi+splitter

If you look at picture 1 feed from laptop is split to 2 TV's but in you case one feed will go via your xbox then TV ;-)

They do now have the TV from Sky app, so maybe you don't need the splitter as much.
Assuming you can snap the app.
