I think you may be able to get a LG G3 for similar money to a P7000 or P8000
I switched from 5 years of iPhone to the G3 and can 100% say there is not a thing I miss about an i device, so much so that the iPad is the next to go

My son's Cubot X10 should be here Monday/Tuesday, I'll take a sample photo and upload to see how they compare

Have just ordered the Elephone P8000 the specification look very good considering the cost was £118.70 delivered. Delivery should be by the end of the month if not sooner, will post photos and a quick review. Purchased from Geek Buyer, and used a $40 rebate voucher

I only have one issue with new phones Chinese or not and that's the size their all massive, 5" screen in my limit. The P8000 does look very nice though

    Hey,

Can you provide a link? Is the $40 rebate voucher one you already had or are there more?

Took the plunge and ordered! Ordered with a Tempered screen protector for an extra $7 - £116 in total.

I have been threatening to jump onto Android for a while now, for this price it is a no brainer to have a play with and then decide do I go back to Apple with the 6s or 7 or go mainstream (Motorola, LG etc) further down the line. Unless of course this exceeds expectations.

It is just Facetime and photostream I will miss, however I am sure I can get over that quickly.

For video calls you could use tango or Viber,

Interesting that both tango and Viber can be used to communicate with apple. Any suggestions on which one us best?

You can't go Viber/Tango to Facetime, but you can cross platform if installed on both devices Viber to Viber, Tango to Tango

Ha, it would have amazed me if apple had allowed anything to communicate with their precious facetime. I'm even surprised that they allow installation of Skype. Do you have a feeling which is the better tango or Viber?

All they need do is download a free app from the app store, sounds like you need a new family 😉 (obviously said in jest)

Sorry, just home and read your post and saw you had managed to find the link yourself, $40 is a bit off m8. Can't wait to receive and try the P8000

It's more about teaching old dogs new tricks.. They think the iPad only does facetime... Turning them to Android will be too much for them, they would explode.

Teclast. Bought the Mrs a Teclast x98 3G. The newer 64gb model. It is placed as a direct rip off of the Air.

It is an Android/Windows 8.1 dual boot device and is superb considering it was about £180 delivered .

Fucks sake. Elephone release a newer new phone ( a dual boot Android Lollipop / Windows 10 device ): I think June is a typo, must mean July ?!?!?

Elephone has listed this handset on their official website, and it seems like it will be called Elephone Vowney (at least the Android version of the device). The Vowney will launch on June 20th, and it will sport some really high-end specs. This handset will feature a QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage. The 20.7-megapixel camera will be available on the back of this handset, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be located on its front side. The Android variant of the device will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor, while the dual boot model will ship with Intel’s SoC. We still don’t know if both variants will launch on June 20th, but at least the Android model should. This device will come with a 3,800mAh battery, which should provide more than enough juice to get you going throughout the day. You’ll have the option to run stock Android 5.1 or CyanogenMod ROM (at least in the Android version of the device).

Some inaccuracies in above I think:

    Info from Elephone themselves.
