Any concerns about warranty/customer care with these handsets. I'm used to some pretty exceptionally service from both Apple and Samsung so would not want to compromise just to say a few quid.

Sadly I can't root these days as it upsets my banking software. There have been patches / hacks to get around it but it's a cat and mouse scenario like the PSP.
With that said, I have to admit the Zopo ZP990+ on FleaBay looks like a fairly decent device, especially at £230. Or a more well known brand in the form of the Huawei Ascend P7 - Quad-Core 1.8GHz, 5" IPS 445PPI, 2GB/16GB, 13MP [rear] / 8MP [Front], 4G LTE 1800MHz + 2100MHz, Android 4.4 @ £269.

I use NatWest on my rooted cubot one x6 no problems at all, if that helps ;-)

I'm with Barclay's mate. They don't like rooted devices
Im using the s3 clone by cubot and im not impressed at all with it it was cheap though.
I ordered a white Cubot X6 after reading this from BangGood - it cost me about £105 all in with next day delivery!
To be honest I really like it - still getting my head around Android but everything so far has been fine - it's not as smooth as my iPhone but can't complain when I could have one of these for each day of the week for the same price SIM free!!
Performance for what I use it for is great - my iPhone has been shit since the iOS 8 upgrade but this is a nice companion - loving the bigger screen too!

Don't forget you can toggle the cores off in the battery menu also the screen is better off default auto
Economic backlight mode ;-)

Ordered a Dagger DG550 from BangGood but couldn't see where to get next day delivery - ah well.
I think it's if they have the option to ship from the UK warehouse - if they have them in stock there you can pick registered delivery which is 1-3 days
That Doogee is well cheap for what it is - not actually sure how they've made it cheaper than the Cubot with a bigger screen to boot!
I noticed it looks like this Cubot is rooted out of the box as well according to a few apps I've tried.
What's the Cubot X6's camera like?
Thinking about getting the wife one but would need a decent camera.
The "13MP" camera on my Zopo is OK but not great.

Been looking around at a few of these and wish I'd ordered this one now - no expandable memory is the only downside but for about £230 its bloody brilliant. Gorilla Glass 3 on front and back, 1080p screen and 5.5mm thick! It just got the KitKat update too.

Got the Dagger DG550 and I'm very impressed - these Chinese phones have really come on leaps and bound in terms of build quality and features. I also ordered a few days after a Galaxy S5 clone with an 8-core CPU and FULL HD display. I've since ordered another S5 for the missus as she had a mess around with it for 10 minutes and said 'get me one'. Very impressive stuff.

Its a shame they probably won't update to kitekat :-(

I bought one for the Mrs about 9 months ago now. not the cubot, it is some generic 4" Android e.t.c. cost about £65 delivered and arrived in 5 days from HK. Works a treat tbh although battery not amazing
As you state though I can't find a way to update it to kitkat
P.S Don't you mean KITKAT ? I Thought kitekat was cat food ;-)
Luckily the Dagger is getting 4.4 in early August as reported on their FB page.
Thinking about it, the makers of Kitekat have missed out on making some sort of viral marketing campaign!
For anyone with these, good idea to install CPUID and see what's going on under the hood, especially with the clones. You might find greatly reduced expected figures in terms of internal storage etc. Some of those S5 clones end up with only 1.2gb after the OS.
