any idea of best way to unlock samsung I5500?

Hi all
Got given a Samsung I5500 which is locked to 3.
I've done a fair bit of googling but can't get this thing unlocked.
Does anybody have an idea of the best way to get this done now?

Any repair shop with z3x or nspro (prob a few others also) should be able to do this model probably £5-10 or you could fill in unlock request form via three website if you know someone on three that you can use sim in phone for request and that's about £15

Or unlock code via samsung Europe service is around £15 on eBay
