    Advice Russian Adverts in Firefox

Dunno how they managed to appear, but I have been getting Russian adverts with Russian text beneath the images display various tings from goods to erm... woman!

There is a Russian website I use called soft-best, but I have been there hundreds of times over the last few years and it's only recently these Russion hings have appeared, so I don't think it is a cause of that site.

Any suggestion on how to get rid of them, without stopping using Firefox?

If I have to uninstall, I would need to be able to get all my bookmarks back, is isn't as easy as it should be.

I assume you're using adblock plus already?

Adblock? Use this. Blocks ALL adverts.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/

If that fails, Malwarebytes to hunt for any nasties. Disable all Add-ons using a process of elimination til the Russian P0rn ads have all gone.

    JINX!

The best advice, is ditch FF and come on over to the Chrome side. T'is shiny. Export ya Bookmarks and Import them to Chrome. Problem solved.

Adblock in use. MalwareBytes on full time.

I have Chrome too, and the adverts are there too, but always liked the speed of FF.

They do not however appear in IE or in Avant browsers.

Sounds to me, you might have authorised a standalone Advert program by mistake.

Check in Add/Remove Programs for any programs that might be installed without your permission, like SalesGenie or SeachConduit, I forget the names of them, but they seem to lurk in a lot of machines I find similar problems with.
Update and make a Full System scan with MWB's too, can only help.

Look anything like this, because this looks like something new.

The link on AVForums is atypical of the things I see yes.

I have checked the installed programs list and there is nothing in thee that shouldn't be.

    Stumped...

Shit dude, you've been going to Russian Brides for Photographers as well? FUCK!!

...PMSL. Seriously, though. I've been getting them too. No Malware or Viruses that I can find. I did however right click on one that popped up on the Guardian site and chose to block with Adblock plus.

They seem to originate from "aceadsys.net". We'll see how "blocked" they are from this point.

I am getting these too in chrome. They dont pop up on all sites very strange. I have also done a full MalwareBytes scan and it is also protecting my machine 24/7. I also use adblock. Very strange.

There must be something the pair of you have on your system that's not meant to be there and by the sound of it, it's not going to be easy to find.
Me personally, I'd get so wound up with it, I'd reinstall my system. But that's just me.

Ah I forgot to update this thread - There are two addons that are connected to ace streams It is they that are responsible. In firefox it is T S Magic Player in Chrome the name escapes me but it is similar. The only fix is to uninstall acestream as otherwise these addons just re-install themselves. Sorry I forgot to update.
@DejaVu = The getting wound up part was what led me to keep digging and eventually got to the bottom of it....a clean install was not far away lol.

You do realise chrome is Google and they will be taking all the data they can from your browsing and selling advert inventories

I couldn't give a toss. I use Adblock, they can fill as many Advert inventories as they like.

... if I stayed paranoid about such things, I wouldn't own a mobile phone either.
