Sky TV jumping channels

Hi,

Since we had the thunder storms over the weekend my sky box channels keeps jumping from one to another automatically. I've rang sky and gone through a system rebuild three times, system reset, and a new install - under the settings section of the box. Sky customer services have put the phone down on me 3 times as they don't know what the issue is.

Please help - how do I resolve this as I can't watch any programmes or recordings properly ?

Probably your missus doing it with her phone to wind you up.
(Not joking here, one of my mates is often going on about how crap sky is and how the channels keep jumping. Then his wife posts on Facebook how she's been winding him up with her phone by changing the sky channels while he's watching it. He's not tech savvy and not on Facebook either.)

Make sure you haven't got something pressing the buttons on top of the box. Seen it a few times where a DVD player on top has moved slightly and is resting on the button.

As above make sure you don't gave anything on top of the stb pressing on the top buttons, also check that no buttons are stuck on the remote.

Other than that its a box replacement.

Thanks for the replies. Not missus, no buttons are stuck on the remote and nothing of top of the sky box. The channels are intermittent and after about an hour of viewing they start jumping, even if it is recordings and not live viewing

Just as a test put something in front of the STB so no remote can access the box and see if it then changes, this is to eliminate interference coming in via the sensor in the box.

If it still changes on its own I would look for another box.

Thanks for the replies.

I have tried putting the remote in the other room and taking the batteries out. I will try again, after plugging all the wires back up again and see if it works if not then seems like the box maybe faulty.
