I went for the same deal after reading your post, had a tinker last night and put xbmc on, it seemed to run pretty well but i've not got a mini hdmi cable to plug it into the tv and give it a proper test as of yet.....

    Good post Miffy.
I like the look of it, but my past dealings with XBMC are full of constant faffing about and dead links etc etc, but is this more stable?

Well I went to install the plugins that was already on my box but this box didn't come with it on the box. Although it did have 4.4 on it.

Luckily i have the zip file for the droidbox wizard on a pen drive so if you do buy one and need it then let me know and I can send this across to you. the actual site won't let you download it unless you have an order number with them.

I think it depends on the plugin you use. I never quite got on with mashup in the past although others have. I usually use Genesis and never have any problems with film or tv. Even on older stuff

Please PM that to me mate, will be much appreciated

Incidentally I did order from them (DS) the other day, saves me getting the zip file off myself though.

The Linx is a Windows8 tablet, so can you set it to auto boot into XBMC? One of the reasons I like my Revo is I can hit the power button, sit my ass down and just navigate to my media without loading apps via a primary OS.

Think of it as a innards of a proper computer shoved into a 7 inch tablet.it has full desktop mode. Can try getting it to boot into xbmc later. I got the 10 inch version coming this week for 129.99

Yeah I watched a vid on pootube and it looks amazing, was shocked when they showed the standard windows file navigation. For 70 quid it seems stupid to not have one.

Will do when I am home from work. The zip file is on my actual box so need to get it off that.

In the mean time looks like this site has it http://www.pcliverpool.co.uk/xbmcaddons.html already to download.

I need to update my ATV2 for my son, might try popping that onto it and give it a whirl. I've watched videos of droidstick running it looks good, but then looks can be deceiving.
