I've been hearing awesome things about Amazons new TV box lately. Not available here in the UK via Amazon yet, but -
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-...-/141248974547

Sideloading Apps, most already included (Plex Home Theater as Standard!) and also the possibility of adding Google Play Store to it already.
I'm seriously looking into owning one myself once I've read a few more reviews, especially at that price.

Perhaps to replace my Acer Revos (which would have been the number one choice a couple of years ago).

There are still audio issues with the built in Plex client on the Fire TV - a lot of those go away if you use XBMC on there though!

I got myself one of these a few weeks back, not had any problems so far. Remote is a bit crap but I downloaded an XBMC app to my ipad and phone to control it. Comes with a good addon that basically sets it up for you as well

I have a couple of MINIX x7's they play everything I throw at them, do need a ROM flashed in place of the stock. As stock struggled with some file formats.

Yes as far as I am aware. I basically use it for streaming on xbmc I.e ice films and genisis. Not tried with files as I don't download them anymore. But I have had nothing jump or skip yet.

The set up was easy. Xbmc was installed and you just need to run a wizard in the program's. There is a YouTube channel that explains it as well i can send this link if you want.

I must oust say it's the best 40 quid I have spent in a long time

    Thanks to miffy

Quick question mate - did the box in your link come with the wizard in the videos on that youtube channel? Reason I'm asking is I'm looking to buy something like this for my folks and I want it to be easy for them to manage.

It did indeed. if I remember rightly it is in the program addons and you just run that. I just purchased another for a family member for christmas and will be setting it up tonight so will let you know if there is any change.

    Thanks to miffy

Miffy that's a great link I was looking at a site called droidsticks and they sell them for twice the price. A tutorial on the latest version of xbmc would be cool and getting all the plugs working. By the looks of it android 4.4 should run on those boxes.

i have 4 different devices in the house that run xbmc

just got a linx 7 inch tablet off ebay for 59.99 this thing pisses all over the android boxes and its even faster than my old pc with 2gb of ram and amd cpu that i have plugged in upstairs

i think it will be quicker than a revo , for some reason streams load quicker and everything just seems to work better , yoiu will really notice the start up time and the way the plugins load up relly quick
