Treadmill Help

My motorised treadmill has started squeaking like a bastard and the motor is getting really hot. I don't know whether it should run hot anyway as I've only checked it because of the squeaking. The belt and drive belt and both really tight so I'm now concerned that the motor is on it's way out. Does anyone know if it's possible to strip these motors and check the bearings and does anyone have any other ideas?

maybe you've over tightened the belt making the motor work harder than usual!
