just watched "Captain America : A winter soldier" I'm not a marvel fan but it had great action and kept me interested all the way through. Samual L Jackson was good as usual 7/10

Another amazingly funny film with seth rogan.
if you like Seth you will love this film and my missus isn't keen but laughed all the way through.

Rush. 9 / 10
although it was a really good and well made film about nikki Lauder and James hunt, I felt it had all been seen before in TV documentaries.
That being said I was glued the whole way through and so was the wife and she hates F1.

We watch lots of films so this will be a thread I post in a lot.

Not watched any films this week but last week I had a Japanese week, Battle Royale 1 & 2 and then Death Note.

BR1 & DN 10/10
BR2 gets 9/10

BR1 is a must, if you dont like subs or cant read very well then stay away but even with the subs the film is amazing, you forget your reading them and get right into the film, saying that all 3 films are musts!

As for other films in the past month or 2:-

Edge of Tomorrow - 8/10
X-Men DOFP - 8/10
The Signal - 6/10
The Rover - 3/10 Really though this would be good but fuck me was it boring!
Her - 7/10
Million Ways to die in the West - 7/10 Family Guy humour and not a bad film.
The Purge Anarchy - 7/10 Better than the first imo.
Starred Up - 6/10
Divergent - 8/10

Watched quite a few others as my son & I have films nights, as an end note the worst film we have ever watched was Brighton Rock remake, fuck if The Rover was bad then this was pure unadulterated pish!

I actually watched The Godfather parts 1 and 2 for the first time recently (yes, I know!). Watching them in 2014, they did seem a little dated, but not too shabby. 7/10.

Watched Inception again also, which I think is a fucking amazing film. 9/10.

Watched the new X-men film recently. Visually it was very nice - but the story was piss poor. 4/10

Transformers Age of Extinction - Too fucking long IMO. Just like the rest of them, and Wahlberg is a prick. 3/10

Godzilla - Thought this was visually stunning as well. One of the better remakes this year and sounds fantastic with the subwoofer up, rocking the house! 8/10

Amazing Spiderman 2 - One of the better spiderman remakes with a more humorous twist on the character. Enjoyed this. 7/10

Edge of Tomorrow - Based on the book "All you need is Kill" - a Japanese novel originally, I thought Hollywood could have taken more note of the book and made it more accurate to what is written. However they did a great job of dumbing it down for the masses and making it appealing. I actually enjoyed Cruise in this one, usually I don't. 7/10

I apologise if my critique was hurtful. The fact you suggested the movies seemed a litte dated, when they were depicting the 40's and 50's made me chuckle a little. Did you expect CGI?
