Advice XBMC/SPMC Fails on Amazon Fire TV

    Hi

So, after half term I finally got some time to myself and fiddled with the Fire TV today.

I've side loaded XBMC and SPMC and both fail to get past the initial boot, says it's starting for the first time then falls flat on it's face. After that, any further attempt to load just black screens and dies.

I've trawled round a lot today looking for bits and bobs for this little sleek sexy box but now I'll admit I'm stuck.

I did find a thread of issues like this but they seemed ICS related (?)

I'm loading the app through the application manage in settings, would an app launcher get me round this issue - any recommendations?

    Thanks for reading

I installed xbmc no problem, but wanted a few repositories so the easiest way was just to uninstall xbmc and use the tvmc bundle.

I didn't realise that all I'd have to do was install that apk.

    Amazing, many may thanks.

I'm hoping someone works out how to root it, so I can get it working how I want with a proper launch button, or just XBMC.

    oE.

    oE.
No root but try sideloading Llama that might do what you want.
