    Default Nest thermostat schedule....

So we have one of these things in the home. The auto learning thing really isnt suitable due to the nature of my job and hers, so we want a set schedule, but the literature doesnt really explain how to set it up well.

With the app, you can set setpoints for time/temp, does this mean for example according to the picture below, that the heat will come on at 5.00am and heat to 25 degress and maintain that temperature all day?

We would preferably like to say for example, come on at 5am, heat to 25 degress and once reached turn off until say mid afternoon where we can heat to 21-22, and then at night for it to come on sometime in the evening and heat to about 25 again....

    25?!

With that schedule its going to be 25 constantly as you never turn it back down again.

You need to work out how long it takes to get up to 25, say two hours so at 7am put in a setpoint of 5 or off or whatever. Then put in more setpoints for the afternoon etc.

That means the heating will come on some time earlier than 5am to make sure it is 25 for 5am.
The nest learns how long it takes to heat your house, the schedule then adjusts the start time to make sure it hits the temperature in the schedule.

So set the temp you want at the time you want, the heating will come on earlier to get it correct.

    25 degree's - that is hotter than a bloody old granny's house.
