Default Re: Acer D255 wireless issue with Win7 home edition - not the usual..

Ok came back to this today, so the lappy connected to wireless. This time i used the wps button on the router. Everything worked well. Then I restarted the computer and back to square one. I have tried differing device drivers, I've tried the unclicking everything in the properties to just IP4. As it works once I don't understand why it wont work on a restart.

Attached is a screen grab of the device manager:

    Any ideas?

Can you see the process start in task manager , if you open it as soon you can ?
Strange one , if you want to try a different chipset card the offer still stands .
iv got loads of different ones depending on the form factor .

    Thanks to plug1

Thank you plug, but having tried two different cards, a broadcom and atheros I think it is something else....as they both had the same issues.

Have you tried the vista driver ? In connection network sharing center ./adaptor settings . Disable all but the wifi crd
rgt clk /props/ cfg power management . Un tick all .
Rtg click disable the crd / double click to enable then it turns on dbl clk again .
does the APs list propagate . Use the refresh top right .
let me know how you get on . I'm sure iv seen same problem with an old asus seashell netbook .
But fuctifano how I fixed it . Try force the old Xp driver ..
hope yi sort it mate .

Came back to this earlier and stuck a bt voyager 1055dongle in it and running the vista driver and it works!

Tried using the atheros xp driver, from the acer site, but that same thing no wireless internet. Will play later as I'm easily frustrated at themo so it is a bad idea todo frustrating things.
