Anyway of telling if a phone is locked to EE or Virgin ?

I know the phone is locked as any other sim won't work but I don't know if it's locked to EE or Virgin as both sims work.

Just need to know who to approach to get it unlocked.

Is there no branding at all, or proprietary apps? Not even a customer service or voice mail number preset into the phone book?

Virgin is part of EE, I think EE are now unlocking for £8.99 so might be worth contacting them if you have checked the things zoots suggested.

Being a complete fud... I forgot to mention it's a iPhone. I'll try a EE PAYG sim with the 8.99 credit on it to unlock it

With being an iphone it was wiped totally.

I'm with EE and can't wait to get away. They keep spamming me with texts and phone calls trying to sell me other stuff. Never had that problem on O2.

There was a web form you could fill in with an SLA of 2 weeks!!! You're lucky if you get the 2 weeks...

Just a quick update.. Stuck in a EE PAYG sim. Credited the account , filled in the web form and less than a week later it's unlocked. Actually very impressed with the service all round.
