just as smooth as the revo to be honest, streams 1080p flawlessley from the revo (connected to 2 desktop hard drives downstairs) - cant fault it. would highly recommend!
I'd be going for an Amazon Fire TV Stick now and sideload Kodi onto it. £35.
Just bought one of thoes Amazon Fire stick, sideloaded Kodi on to it installed Navi-X along with Vdubt25.
Working really well, for £35 cant complain. Any other channels worth installing As I'm pretty new to this XBMC stuff
Hey guys, jumping on this post as didn't want to repeat the whole thing in a new one...
I'm looking for a cheap box for my father in law to stream via the net TV shows, films , sports etc
I saw some android set top boxes on ebay for various prices & specs but really just after the simplest solution and out of the box ready without the need for constant updating etc as he's not as tech savvy as the rest of the world but not a complete doughnut.
Something in the price range of £30 - £60 ideally.
Any android STB users got suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Nothing wrong with a Pi2 just some effort sorting the SD card image.
Go for the VidOn.me box mate, cheap and it works, runs android etc. - you will get 12 months of their premium service too (which allows you to view Full Bluray Menu's on ISO's - i dont believe any other box does this)
I had one of the Chameleon box's that Rap mentioned but its died on me so need to send it back
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
I have used addons such as sports devil with it and that works great.
I have never had it lag on me and i stream 50GB+ bluray iso's over SMB on my home network, never had a problem mate
edit: oh and i think i paid less than £50 for the vidon box and i paid 3x that amount for the Chameleon and i dont think the difference was worth the money

I've an Amazon Fire Tv box,it's great. I've set some Amazon Fire Sticks for people, they seem as capable BUT the sticks get ridiculously hot under any use.
Plus when streaming I like a wired connection so I'd recommend the fire box.
I would also add ... Fire TV Stick, £35 from most stores Argos, Amazon etc .. Comes with remote .. easy to sideload Kodi .. Well built ... and simple for the end user who doesn't tinker much. Next I would say a Pi 2, awesome bit of kit for the price and what you can do with it, would sugguest this if you are into tinkering ... Also worth paying a coule £££ for a good class 10 mirco SD card ..
