Help 4s battery drain (same after replacement and restore)

Bought a 4s for my son, battery life seemed quite bad, replaced battery as easiest option.
still the same, so restored the phone to new and latest Apple update.

battery is still the same dropping a full 100% in 14 hours, with no use or apps running (no apps installed)

couldnt see any visable water damage when opening the phone, asked for a replacement battery and was told they will send one but it's very rare they have any issues with returns on there battery's.

it must be something else as both the old and new battery drain extremely quick - 300 hours standby? Prffftttttt

    Thanks in advance 👏👍👌✌️

Does it get hot? Sometimes water damaged phones get hot and battery drains very quickly, usually because the logic board got a soaking in its layers and its shorting something

Hmmm I'm not sure, what is best to let it charge then take the back off and physically feel the battery? Or would the back get hot even with it on?

Sounds like a quick sell to get out of bother lol

Have you got a crappy signal? I noticed my battery life increased dramatically once work installed a picocell (or whatever) and I got a proper full strength signal, before I barely made a day with it on my desk and listening to tunes for a few hours. Guessing it was searching for the signal all the time or switching between 3G and 2g and that was hammering the battery.
