Info Sony drops PlayStation TV price to £45 in the UK

Sony's PlayStation 4 is selling incredibly well, but an early price drop suggests its smaller cousin isn't doing so well in the UK. The PlayStation TV has always been a peculiar proposition, offering an easy way to play some, but not all PlayStation Vita, PSP and classic PSone games. Arguably its best feature is Remote Play, but £84.99 is a tough sell if you just want to stream PS4 games around the house. The mini-console has been available in the UK for a little over three months, but already Sony is dropping the price to £44.99.

It's a huge price cut, and one that likely reflects the console's muted reception. Would we recommend one now? Maybe, given the gizmo also comes with a voucher for three PlayStation Vita games. Until triple-A titles such as Tearaway, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush are supported though, you're probably better off saving your pennies.

has anyone got the device?? as would like some reviews from some DF members.

I went to purchase one the other week so my son could play the console in his own room with console downstairs and advised by a sales advisor in game not to bother as the LAG is extremely bad.....

I have one and i quite like it. I have only experienced lag on one occasion and I am running it over wireless when it is recommended the ps4 and PS TV at both on a wire network.

The only gripe I have is lack of Netflix support, other than that it's a good little box.

Get one but don't ever play over wifi (it sucks balls no matter people tell you otherwise) - if you need to play it in another room, get some homeplugs.

I use some Gb Speed Homeplugs in my house and when I plugged this in I could play Wolfenstein with PS TV on HQ settings. It felt like the console was in front of me.

These are brilliant little devices, I only ever use it for the PS4 remote play stuff, so can't comment on any of the other streaming video or vita games but for PS4 play in a different room (I used wired network) it's faultless, complete lag-free gaming as if the PS4 was in the same room, simply cannot go wrong at this price.

may be worth me purchasing with a home plug as my son will play fifa over a wireless network and do not want any lag involved.
