Default First Macros of the year....(I'm sure I posted a similar thread title last year).

Bloody late coming the darn Macro season. Even these were taken down in Devon and actually in a controlled environment. We visited a Honey bee farm in South Molton where it was impossible to actually photograph any honey bees but there was a display and talk by a guy there who had a bunch of insects and arachnids. Anyway, spotting my Macro lens, he invited me to take some shots in "Critter Cabin" which is where all the bugs were kept. Thankfully, he didn't touch me in that room which was nice lol.

I do have all the latin names for these but I'm sure most people won't give a shit about them lol. So for now, they're all called Bug, Spider or Scorpion.

Here be, shit loads of images.

    AWESOME Stick insect

Gotta love a Mantis. However I'm glad they're this big

    Furry Fucker

Wind of Change..... sorry. bad joke I know.

The happy mum with her brood.

This one just looks purely evil.

    A baby one...

    Cockroaches (ps, not my thumb)

There just aren't any words for this plethora of stick insects . Also, not my arm.

Brilliant eclectic range of bugs. Really nice mantis, the eye on the stick is brill, and love the tarantulas.

Thanks Paul. That "head shot" of the Stick isn't a crop either. It was happy to stay still and pose so I got in close.

I'm so tempted to buy a couple of Mantis's. They're cheap enough. I rather like the shots of the Tarantulas too. Not sure I'd ever own one but I enjoed photographing them. There was one in a box that had a notice on saying "Contains more than mild peril" - We didn't open that one lol.

    Thanks to dpSparhawk
