I think using CS via a small sub for SD Sly is still a great option. Using KODI for the big 1080p things is just as easier, only downside to IPTV and XBMC is the constant updating etc

Only for the freebies. If you pay for a managed sub, it's no hassle at all. I just switch the channel on.

Only thing I would say is that 1080p IPTV isn't comparable to broadcast HD, or even to Netflix HD. The reduction in bitrate is somewhat noticeable. Especially for fast moving pictures, like you get with the football.

I have 75 meg down and have tried all different IPTV servers and boxes. I am currently using plex but have used a MAG and XBMC and direct streaming with the USA apps. It is still noticeable. The closest it got to broadcast HD was a 1080p channel of NBCSN.

Don't know much about this iptv but it sounds promising. My misses wants Italian TV but I can't fit a satellite as I'm in a flat.

is it possible to get Italian TV on iptv? And if so possible on a fire TV?

Pretty sure the rai channels are available and I've seen some links for sky Italia.

    Yes and Yes.

You can get Plex on a Fire TV. The channels is all dependent on people supplying them. I am sure there will be a demand for Italian channels, so there will be someone sharing them. Most likely on Italian language sites, rather than the ones I visit. The server I use has Sky Sports Italia, I think.

Used both for a number of years. Prefer xbmc or kodi, as it is now.
Used to run it off a rpi but got a Prometheus box now - can provide the link if interested.
one of the reasons I prefer kodi is the ability to download so many repositories / add-ons.........including a version of plex.

Me too mate they have effectively dropped 3D now, wasn't really worth investing in anyway.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...
