Default Amiko A3 Android Sat Box

Been hearing loads and loads about this box and think its time for the DFers to start discussing it.

What can you tell me I don't already know?

From what I've worked out, its an Android powered Satellite receiver box with a built in Media Centre.

The amount of people I've noticed getting these things, I'm sure I'm missing something.

When I get home, I'm going to embark on loads more research, but what I'm hearing, these things are the mutts nuts.

Not got time to check ATM, but here is where I'll be starting...

For the price of around £60 £130-£150 Seems reasonable.

I stand corrected. Bit more expensive as bub mentioned, but still, for the price, worth it?

Just out of interest, could I run this from an existing satellite dish and apart from obviously being an android box, what other benefits would it have over my current Sky box?

I have one of these guys - has it's snags and I'm still familiarising myself with it.
If anyone wants to know anything about it let me know. I will TRY to answer as I'm still learning myself.
Anything on the xbmc/kodi side I can probably answer straight away though.

    Thanks to Adit18

I'm failing to see the benefit of this?

Are you really going to use Google Play Android services via a STB?

Why not, it's basically an STB and an Android streaming box in one, with the option to add a hard drive. In built wifi and a darn good remote control, all in one small attractive box.
Don't get me wrong I'm not in love with mine but it's not bad at all.

I haven't even used Google Play store to add any apps, have done that all through Aptoide which saves having to sign in.

    Hi
I have the Wetek Play similar box and so far I have to agree with bigbrand, the Wetek is a buggy piece of shit waste of £100 - it does do everything (but badly) and is it asking too much to expect a working tvheadend on a satellite box. the only thing that I am having little problems with is KODI and its the service I wanted least.
