Probably a daft question but do I need a Kindle Fire to use this or can I chuck video content from my Google Nexus tablet on to the telly?

Also can I get Netflix through this?

Netflix on it and you can sideload kodi, mobdro, hd cinema and showbox on it. Ive got a droidsticks install running on it doing 1080p.

Are these worth it? For Plex, Netflix, iplayer etc?

Can you uninstall pre-installed apps? Such as Prime?

It can take PLEX, I run mine with PLEX, it has frozen on a couple of occasions, but I have thrown it some heavy use.

I think I'll upgrade to the Fire TV BOX though soon as the CPU power and RAM will stop that happening.

I have plex kodi and bt sport on mine in the bedroom. Got one as a prime user for £19 when it was announced. Its a gift at £25

Plex is an app on the amazon store. Why sideload it?

The app on the Amazon store is a demo, you then have to pay to unlock it unless you have a Plex pass.

Sideloading might get around this?

Also with kodi installed I installed metalkettles repo .. take lambdas repo from mettalkettles recommended repos for genesis films and tv and sparkys streams from there too for sport.

Got confused, sorry it was sideloaded, but I did have to pay to enable that version on Fire TV. £3.99 on off, or something like that.

The TV Addons package is well worth installing on it (in Kodi), then for live sport, the plugins of choice at the moment are "Pak Hind", "Vdubt25", "iptv stalker" and "Phoenix".
I have 2 of these in my bairns bedrooms, and a firetv box on my main tv. Marvelous bits of kit.

Got show box on mine and have to say the remote is less than adequate. Is there a way to use my tablet as a mouse remote? I'm finding it hard to navigate using just up down left and right.

Just use genesis instead, I tried showbox on my dads and as you said it's shit.
