Who gives a shit about the fucking town - you posted up wanting help with a graphics card problem and it now appears it's sorted elsewhere, why the fuck am I wasting my time answering your problem?

If you start a thread, update the fucking thing.

    Thanks to crazyal

    er..............ok?

To update the thread, i also posted this question elsewhere and gave the same details as i did here and was advised that the card in the top pic would be a good replacement. Today i received the card:

I have installed the card and when powered up the system is running from the standard VGA graphics adapter.

So i go to AMD driver download and can only find drivers for XP, 7, 8 and 8.1 - no drivers listed for Vista.

What now or have i been advised incorrectly that this card is compatible? (*shriek*)

Card is installed and working - no change from my poor Windows Experience score of 5.9 and a benchmark result:

But it's working and the family is back online!

The Windows Experience of 5.9 is telling you to get rid of Vista ;-)

Agreed. Get Windows 8.1 on there or at the very least Windows 7 with all the Servicepacks. Vista is utter shite.

will my system run 7? Also, what about installation - does it wipe everything or is it an upgrade? (can't be arsed reinstalling everything!)

Upgrades can be done, but I have never recommended them to people.

A fresh install does away with any issues afterwards.

Yes, your system will run Windows 7 and Windows 8.1

    Thanks to crazyal
