Imac 2006 model

just been given an Imac 24 inch 2006 model, hard drive buggered
2.16ghz, 1gb ram
i have put a new 500gb hard drive in, what next, what OS, never worked on Mac stuff only PC Windows based
what & how do i get the correct os for this.
apple is a minefield to me.
i have just downloaded snow leopard as i think thats the correct os
give me windows any day.

www.everymac.com is the place to go for info on Macs, memory support and OS. As long as it runs Snow Leopard then this will be the OS to go for as it was stable and ran pretty smooth. You can get it from torrents or newsgroups and may need Transmac to create a bootable media from the DMG image.

new 500 gb drive in, 2 gb ram now, only paid 35 quid for the imac, had the drive & ram laying around,
installed snow leopard, sold it with in an hour of doing for £200 lol

if its a core 2 duo install mountain lion 2gb ram is fine, plenty of programs on torrents such as ms office etc
I sell these £300 all day long with a new wireless keyboard mouse (non apple)

it was dual core but only 32bit.. cant install mountain lion( only works on 64 bit), sold now. i wish i didnt sell now, might get another, dought i will get one for 35 quid again
