    Default Xbox 360 Silm RDOD

    Hello people,

My trusty Xbox 360 slim has suddenly crawled up it's own arse and will now not load up anything, when I switch it on I get the green power dot for about 8 seconds, then it turns to a red dot. All throughout this time the screen remains black.

I have obviously tried Microsoft but it's out of warranty, then I trawled the internet for a fix and have tried everything from unplugging the internal hard drive to stripping the thing down and cleaning the CPU and re-applying some new thermal paste etc.

According to a few sites all I'm left with is a re-ball\re-flow which to be honest is way above my station LOL!! Is there anyone on here that either does this or knows somewhere trustworthy I can send it off to?

I did think about binning it and buying an Xbox One but to be honest I can't justify the layout for one for the amount of time I play it these days.

Any help will be gratefully received.

    Cheers.

what is the seconday error code ??

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code•Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing. or red dot
•Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
•The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
•Release the eject button and press it again.
•The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
•Release the eject button and press it again.
•The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
•Release the eject button and press it again.
•The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
•Release the eject button and press it again.
•The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:•All four lights flashing - 0
    •One light flashing - 1
    •Two Lights flashing - 2
    •Three lights flashing - 3

    Thanks to pickie

Hi Pickie, thanks for the reply, that took me a little while to get my head around!

However, eventually I've discovered that my error code is 0101

I think that is code for shagged!

£50-£60 for a 2nd hand slim. Really worth messing about for?

That is the exact conundrum I'm having!! Is it worth getting another slim, or do I put the money towards an Xbox one? Maybe I'll wait and see if there's any decent deals for the Xbox one around Christmas, however now I can't play it I'm really missing FIFA! (That's just sad!)

    Decisions decisions!

    Thanks anyway chaps.
