Default The Walking Dead - Season 6

Off we go again. Just watched the first episode. We've finally got shitloads of walkers again so hopefully back on the right track. Not giving too much away so early on but thought it was a strong opening episode with a good cliff-hanger. Morgan continues to be a strong character, and the appearance of one of the characters from the comics.

People on Twitter are asking why there are black and white scenes.

Idiots on Twitter are explaining that the black and white scenes are flashbacks.

They don't seem to realise that fans can't understand why they shot the flashbacks in black and white, not what do they represent.

Fucking annoying to watch, adds nothing.

I don't think it was there just for arty-fartyness either though. There's been shitloads of flashbacks in the past, some revealing things we hadn't seen before (think of Abraham and finding his family after they fled from him) - they were clearly flashbacks and not easily confused with the present timeline. This episode I think was pretty much right to the end 50-50 flashback/present time and some of the ongoings were pretty similar so I guess they decided to eliminate confusion. Personally, I think they should have left it all in colour - anyone with half a clue this deep into the series would have been fine. They've done longer flashback/present time episodes before with no problem. I get they're just trying new things though. No real harm done IMO

Black & White really took me out of the fantasy. I don't mind it usually when it represents past timelines but it all seemed to be recent events that would have been fine without it. Boo!

Glad to see it back in full colour, despite scenes being shot in past tense. Much better.

    Spoiler:
After watching The Talking Dead, and hearing the statement from the writer (about Glen), I think he's deffo a goner. He says we'll see a 'version' of Glen again be that in a flashback or the current storyline. Glen is a walker.

Putting all my eggs in one basket here. He died in the comic, he's dead in the TV show.
Talking of the comic storyline, looks like Rick is finally going to lose his hand.

    Spoiler:
I don't believe he died either, no witnesses like other major deaths, also they fell together so it looks like that Nicholas fell on top of Glenn and therefore it was his intestines they were eating. Tight spot yes dead no.

Really enjoyed the latest episode as usual but I was quite confused as I thought it was set in the past but then I wasn't sure. They really need to use some sort of visual aid to let you know what's in the past.

It started with a big NOW on the screen and then THEN. I thought it was quite clear it was flashing back to Morgan being off his box doing his 'clearing' and writing shit everywhere.

I can see I need to be a bit less subtle with my humour.

I thought the Morgan episode was very poor. It was essentially Karate Kid. Although Mr. Miyagi did not get bitten by a zombie I grant you that.
