got a few they not bad,, expect kodi and the addons to be out of date, put a decent build on them and your sorted .. one downside is the remote needs line of sight but a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse sorts it out

Brilliant boxes, get an official M8n box from eBay for £50. I hate all those stupid fiddly remotes so I would go for a logitech k400 keyboard for it. Kodi, Cartoon HD and many more movie apps work perfectly. The M8n is quad core with 2 gigs of ram, it runs android superbly with no slowdown whatsoever. I am so happy with it that I have 3 of them around the house.

Do yourself a favour and get one of these (there's lots of different makes available) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-Wire.../dp/B00GTQ0J4G

As stated above the remotes that come with these boxes are absolute guff and get tedious very quickly! Mini keyboards like the one in the link make the whole navigation experience so much more pleasant.

Had a play with it all last night. The hardest thing to sort out was the clock. it was set to China time. Most of the apps worked straight out. some needed updating, but this was done automatically once I ran the app. Genesis is a dream as it had tonnes of movies to watch. The live BBC HD was very fast and fluid. Sky Sports HD1 was perfect. I watched part of a footie match just to see if I went well. BT sports also worked quite well too.

The only issues I had were watching 1080p movies which buffered. I am on 30 meg BB from Virgin. So if you wanna watch these films id suggest getting 50 meg BB from your retailer. HD and 720p were perfect with no loss through buffering.

For £30 it is well worth the money. I did not have to do much to it apart from setting the clock. Once you setup all the apps its like having a new console to play with. Lots of apps and games to download.

The system recognised my wired network straight off and everything instantly updated without any hassle

I paid £20 or so for a now TV box with 3 months free entertainment pack. This Kodi has it all and more. NOWTV is going on EBay as its now redundant.

Be careful where you get these boxes from as there are a lot of fakes. Mine although from
    China works perfectly fine.

Hope this helps some of you out there

Do you get Sky sports and BT thru Kodi because you with Virgin or is it "Free" thru Kodi?

How does this stack up against a neo minix x7 mini for example?

By the time you have added a bluetooth remote it still seems half the price and does the same thing?

I do think thiugh that freemium iptv is dead.

The unit I have is a quad core x4 gpu box. so its pretty powerful. it has 1 gig of mem which seems well over enough to stream the movies.

When I say all the channels I mean all. and not from 1 source. there are a lot of working feeds that's "loaded" on my box

    BT sports
    SKY Sports
    Porn
    Movies
    Music
    Email
    Games
    Browser

you can basically do everything that you can do on a laptop/Pc plus stream the tinteweb straight to your TV via your HDMI cable

All I am looking for is something 'oldie' useable.

My folks live in Spain and are totally non tech, and they have the minix mini 7 and use mostly filmon on it. They have 3-4mb dsl and it's a fucking nightmare to get anything else working... All the other apk apps like cartoon hd, or showbox work okay for a few weeks (ad free hacked ones from me) then want to update and cripple the app. Modbro is great quality but their shit dsl stutters the channels to hell.

Xbmc kodi is pointless for them. To much shit to click about with. They have a few different remotes but still use the shit one...

Im only wondering about the box coz I'm there now and I can stream hd stuff on my tablet better. Than their box does.

It was bought off some expat tv dealer wannabe over here, and is some old custom crappy android version. But I ain't bothering my arse reflashing the fucking thing then explain it all to my folks only for it to be shit add ridden kack in a few weeks.

Sat would be better but they are out of the Astra footprint now...

My aim is to get either the same box as theirs and sort it out then when I visit them, hot swap it for theirs. That or buy two other ones and repeat this process every time I come over.

Shiuld really do a new thread for this. Will do when I'm back...

Cool beans I'll expect a couple in the post next week lol.

I know what ur saying but the reality is they always seem to go belly up after a few weeks. I've given the oldies various solutions in the past. All they want is freeview in the most part. And all I want is less headaches!

Seems my parents box is a MyGica ATV520e.

Today it's been an absolute sack of shit. Freezing all the time when trying to watch fucking film on...

Speed test reports 3mb down and up, and film on works fine on iPad. As do other streaming apps.

Ive cleared caches, reinstalled apps cleared space and all sorts. Still shite. It's plugged into their router via cat 5 and not using wifi at all.

Reckon the box is just shit.

Gonna buy a cheapo alternative like the one in the OP, set it working at home and Fkin mail it to them.

Anyonw got a list of hacked apks of use? Working without adds and updates disabled all the Jazz.

If non tech I would recommend Kodi setup but on a Windows/PC box so you can remote desktop in to fix every time an addon updates and everything fucks up :-)
I use a Kodi setup and IPTV + plugins and get pretty much all Sky channels and in HD, but at least once a week something needs fannying around with.

User friendly they are not... well to a degree and I'm sure they will get there but not yet imho

The world of kodi plugins is a mess, full of wannabes and glory seekers. IPTV is dying as well I reckon. Everyone hacking everyone else's streams, paid or not. Nothing lasts long enough to ever be stable, certainly not for a couple of 70 odd year olds in rural Spain.

I bought one of these from a UK seller for £27 so I'll see what I can make it do then send it to them. No doubt like everything else I will get calls about something not working... Lol

It just needs FilmOn and Plex to work and it will be fine. Their existing box is full of lots of other apps, Xbmc, constantly throwing up adverts and wanting updates. Conveniently FilmOn has been playing up as well. Clearly my fault, as a result of 'my' messing with it. Add to that the 'my laptop is much worse' after I spent three hours cleaning three years of shit off it...

Plus my folks use the original remote...When I use it it's shite, but that's because I'm not doing it right. I need to be on the level with it. Press this, press that... NO! It's fucking shit!!! Come for a fucking week off and have more agro that being at work.

Anyway. They can have this box after Christmas and keep quiet once I've made it parent proof.
