I've just assessed how much weight I've actually put back on in. The last two months.! Starting again tomorrow. Will be updating my thread with recipes and shit. Going to be making loads of soups and stews etc.

Since starting a new job I was getting problems finding time to exercise plus on top I had my kidney problems.

I am now commuting to work on my bike (22 mile round trip) and I run 3 miles first thing in the morning on the days I cannot cycle. I have also given up almost everything sugary (no sweets, no ice cream and no fizzy pop) and I have reduced my portion sizes for all of my meals.

Breakfast is usually 1 piece of fruit (I have to eat with the pills I'm taking). Lunch is usually a sandwich or leftovers from the previous night with a piece of fruit. Tea is a proper meal with the family.

I have stopped snacking altogether, no biscuits at all, no crisps etc. I have also stopped drinking alcohol on week days, although I do have a few on the weekend.

If I do snack it's on Biltong from a local company, which is high in protein. https://www.gloucesterbiltong.co.uk/

I'm dropping about 3-4 lb a week following the above and gaining a bit over the weekend but more importantly I'm feeling much better and fitter and my missus says I look much trimmer. Whilst I haven't made much progress in getting below 100kg (which has been my target for ages), all of my clothes are too big now and I've gone from finding xxl and 42" trousers to be a bit tight to l/xl and 36".

My highest weight was 127kg and I'm currently floating around 106-107

    cheers,

    malty

I've setup a weight tracker, started nutri-bulleting and been running once a week.

    Fancy some light competition?

£10 Per Week H2H on weight lost? Money to charity or Df? 8-10-or 12 weeks?
I seriously need to get my head back in the game.

Tell me more about these nutribullet things, I've seen the adverts but are they all they are cracked up to be ?

I mean they are a not cheap. I hate fruit and veg normally so can things be made to actually taste humane and do they leave chewy bits and crap ?
I read somewhere that the 900 watt version is better but makes a lot of noise.

Got the Mrs a Ninja as it was a fraction of the price of a NutriBullet (imho you are paying for the name)

Ninja is fantastic and can make a really smooth juice but to be fair if you don't like fruit you are sort of ... well... fucked. I suppose if you don't mind chugging it down you will be fine. The ninja leaves no lumps/stringy bits if you do it long enough.

Love it in summer as the ninja makes snow from ice. Shot of strength 6 molten magma coffee from the coffee machine poured over a cup of snow. Lush. Can also make milk ice cubes first if you prefer the latte style coffee.

She uses it a few times week and will drink beetroot and celery smoothies and shit. FUCK THAT

It's just a blender so get whichever you prefer. Most days I make one with half spinach or kale then the rest fruit and a bit of water. So I do banana and blueberries / strawberries / papaya / mango / raspberries etc. You can add carrot, ginger, kiwi but I don't do that often. Tastes great. The more fruit the more sugar so try not to have too much but can taste bad if not any.

Been getting more and more into running. I'm currently doing about 20 miles a week. Last week I did 1 half marathon and a 11 mile run along with a couple of shorter runs. Absolutely loving it and never thought I would be able to achieve the distances that I am.

Haven't lost any more weight, I don't think drinking booze is helping much in that respect but I am feeling much trimmer all over and all of my clothes are more loose.

    Cheers,

    Malty

It's something that I've been worried about but not so much as a niggle so far.

Get yourself some decent insoles for your trainers. You can get your feet laser measured and they tailor make them for you. Not cheap though but most runners use them in this day and age.

Talking on in-soles, these on indigogo have been getting rave reviews in the usual tech blogs.

Seems like a decent idea, and takes away the massive cost of the other custom made ones.
