Feeling very tempted now. VERY. Considering the controller alone costs £120 I think it is a good price.

The controller is massively overpriced (and i'm sure ill just lose half the bits).

I dunno how much benefit the ssd will be either really, you could just as easily get an external ssd drive i guess.

I was tempted but will be waiting for a price drop or a slim console as well.

If you don't have the console already tho it would be a good option.

Controller is ridiculously priced and as you say losing bits especially with kids around is gonna happen.

They claim the console will be 20% faster to use. (This doesnt mean game loading/playing) Purely an increase in boot up and when using the OS media, tv e.t.c

Can't decide. Planned on getting a ONE in the next few weeks and keep changing my mind on bundle/bits to go for.

I did read though that this apparently has other changes to console, not just the HDD but improvements to cooling/noise and power drain.

As my day one Box is still fine (controller long dead)..I will push for the controller for xmas.

Controller is expensive but is worth it, the paddles underneath once you get used to them are awesome, 2 settings so can switch between during game i.e. Run and gun where Jump and Reload is needed a lot or Sniper where crouch is needed etc.

I have paddle right upper disabled at mo the as found me grip was triggering it all the time but sure will use it for something down the line.

I got 2 totally different setups at mo 1 for Titanfall and totally different for Halo

U can set the dead zone on the triggers which is how much of a hair trigger you have.
Same with the sticks you can set these to how reactive these are.

Comes preconfigured layouts or start from scratch.

The list goes on ;-)

All the bits are magnetised on to the controller so don't fall off and the carry case :-0 well don't get me started on that.

The only thing I would like is some short domed sticks and the standard domed seen a little high ;-)

Have seen loads of custom bits for the elite controller already for sale from the usual Chinese sellers. Forget where I saw em tbh

With a pure SSD of 1TB costing in the region of £250 I think that is why they went hybrid. Otherwise the console would have been silly money.

Yeah but it does feel overpriced or that you are mostly paying for the controller though.

They should make the SSD as standard as the hybrid drives aren't much more than the normal ones.

They need to do everything they can to lessen the impact of the PS4 being more powerful.

The PS4 is not really more powerful

They use pretty much the same CPU's but the Xbox is clocking faster than the PS4 in a recent update the xbox one upped the mhz

PS4 has more GPU's but the xbox one's are clocked faster, more GPU's are better than the faster speeds so PS4 slightly better here

DDR3 v GDDR5 looks like the big difference with the xbox one only having 60gb per sec bandwidth versus 176gb per second
But hang on what about the xbox ones ESRAM giving it a theoretical 210+gb per second bandwidth.

Yeah, i guess it's more that some of the games on PS4 are 1080p but only 900 on xbox one. That's when it feels like you have the worse console.

And aren't the Fallout 4 issues supposed to be worse on xbox one?

You'd think all nintendo needs to do at this point is release something that's a bit better than both of them and it should be back in play.

Xbox can output 1080p comfortable its just the developers are not creating games in 1080p as yet. You should see this trend change now that developers are getting to grips with it and also directly developing for it rather than 360 ports.

Halo 5 runs at 1080p 60FPS for instance but has a progressive resolution system so when it get graphically intense it downscales to maintain the 60FPS. but even this will go once developers work out how to use/manage the 32MB eSRAM properly as this will open up the true power.

Yeah I get that but then it would earn the name of "Elite"
