    Default Fallout 4

Been looking forward to this for ages, Fallout 3 was one of my favourite ever games, Fallout 4 is due for release on Tuesday the 10th, i might just buy it, even though there's an uncracked pr-release copy up in the usual places

Anyone else going to be playing?

Deffo, Fallout 4 is the reason I plan on getting an XBONE this month. Just keep changing mind on which bundle to get.

Loved the extra Fallout 3 releases too. Remember the sexbot Fisto ???

Yup, can't wait to get on this. However, think I'll try before I buy. I adored 3 but didn't feel New Vegas was worth an additional release. Hopefully they'll up their game.

Can't wait for this. Will be pirating as soon as a reliable source has cracked it. I'm a cunt!

    Thanks to cyprus

Probably because Bethesda were not behind the actual development of the game but kind of just franchised out the name to another developer (Obsidian I think) and they just produced it. You're right though it lacked something.

Couple of hours into this and loving it so far, so addictive as with previous Fallout games - can see me sinking whole lot of hours into it.

Had seen complaints about frame rate drops and glitches etc - to be expected from a Bethesda game but I haven't seen anything so far that has put me off, great stuff.

I've just managed to complete the first real mission with the power suit. Pretty much plays identical to Fallout 3 which is no bad thing although the pace does feel a tiny bit sluggish. I wish you could automatically check the value/weight of items without the extra step and I think I preferred the simpler level up options in Fallout 3, there was no need for it to look so elaborate. Hopefully I will get used to it the more I play.

Overall first impressions, slightly underwhelmed. Glad I pirated it!

My graphics card keeps having a shit fit (with a lot of games recently) where the Nvidia driver crashes and kicks me out of whatever game I'm playing. Very frustrating.

Never played a Fallout game before, but seeing as the internet was spunking it's pants over it, I thought I'd 'do a Cyprus' also and see what all the fuss was about.

Seemed good fun, but not sure what all the hoo haa is about. It's just Skyrim with guns, right? No bad thing of course. A bit dated game-play wise though I think.

The graphics do seem a bit rubbishy also (even with everything on Ultra) when compared to say MGS: V.

Seems bladdy hard as well. I have it on Normal and tried to do a mission where I had to kill a load of Raiders at some Power Plant looking place. Got absolutely trounced! Could be because I'm just shite, but I dread to think how rock it would be on Survival mode!

Story doesn't seem all that well written either so far. It takes quite the leap to imagine a homely family man becoming a gun toting mercenary for hire 200 years in the future without so much as a WTF?? Could be I'm missing back story from previous games though I guess.

Not the 9/10 that most places have been giving it for me. But still worth a play.

If you're not fussed about Steam achievements or DLC, I'd do a Cyprus if I were you.

    7/10*

*Based on a measly 6 hours play. Could well be awesome further in!

When you get involved with characters and the story a bit more you will start to like it more. It is like a fine wine.

I read they've done away with the skill system, all based around base stats for unlocks? What the actual fuck.

There are a few tweaks you can do to improve the game here, including uncapping the framerate so it runs faster if your pc is decent.

OK, after my second sit down, I have to say it's starting to grow on me.

I still hate the fact that I need an extra step to see an item's stats before picking it up and every single time I loot someone I am pressing "back" on the controller and opening the fucking pip boy instead of just walking away.

I'm finding the dog a bit useless. Can't be arsed giving it commands when it's easier to just do it myself.

I'm enjoying the combat a lot more than previous Bethesda games, it feels more fluid and 'looking down the barrel' aiming is very smooth.

    Thanks to cyprus
